Facing Challenges In Nigeria

Life is like a big merry-go-round. Sometimes , you may feel like you have it all figured out, other times you’re too confused to believe your existence which usually happens in a flash.

In Nigeria, where challenges seems to be at a unique peak and very incredibly present in everything and in one’s daily routine compared to developed countries.

There’s however, the need to device a working means to go around these challenges, not usually self imposed but system imposed on most innocent citizens .This things do not just happen to one Nigerian but to most, if not all of us.


Figuring out some ways to overcome or handle them will help one to stay centered and remain calm under these times. Though, this will not be a well crafted article if some of the many challenges citizens of Nigeria fall victims too are not outlined.

Paying Bills even when grossly unemployed, insecurities, inadequate power supply, poor road networks, etc. The average Nigerian citizen worries about virtually everything and is loaded with the task of trying to fix it themselves one way or another.

He or she oughts to find his way around staying safe by employing security guards, returning early, fixing burglary proofs etc. As well as fending for a means of survival and general self care once a child comes of age.

This job hunting and hardship gets aggravated by poor roads indirectly placing extra cost on one’s pocket by commercial drivers who have to figure out some route to get passengers to their destination or stay in the traffic that wouldin normal cases allow them several rounds.

Challenges in Nigeria


Not to mention returning to a roof over one’s head lacking basic amenities yet with a rent that one can barely keep up, totally void or rickety power supply in turn costing many sleepless nights.

Yet,to survive we must. So here are a few good tips and tricks to follow when the going gets tough.

Set A Plan: In a country such as this, one oughts to work with a plan. Look at the patterns in life and see what challenges you’ve struggled with, set time limits to daily activities and how to more conveniently scale through them.

Know You’re Not Alone: Though, the country looks fair for some citizens, it is crystals in the number that are struggling, understand that you are not alone. Whatever your situation, there are others who have been through it too.

Ask For Help: Many people do not like to do this because of fear of being mocked, ridiculed and turned down. Also, because a good number of persons on the street are beggars. Well, there’s no need to feel ashamed for asking for help when you need it. Whether you choose to rely on a loved one, a stranger, a mentor, or a friend, there are people who want to help. We all need help, was helped and still will be.


See the big Picture: Take some time to feel what you feel but never forget to paint and see the big picture. Dream it, act on it, the life you want to live tomorrow and sometimes you’d rather write it down for reference and staying on track, writing can be a therapeutic and cathartic experience.

Help Others: Some people feel they have too much trouble themselves, they can’t help anyone. Well, what you give is what you get, if you’ve been through a situation or have advice for someone you know who is going through a tough time, be sure to help out! Helping others not only benefits them, but it can also help you feel happier yourself.
