Not long after leaving his fans thrilled and thanking them for the success of his latest movie, “Top Gun: Maverick” – which had become the highest-grossing film of 2022 – it now does seem like jumping off a cliff and every other deadly stunts you could ever think of has become more of a Tom Cruise routine. He has severally pulled off stunts like this for his movies and so effortlessly. This time is no different.

Tom Cruise has again nailed it after he shared a ‘Behind The Scenes’ clip on his twitter on the set of the forthcoming “Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning” films. Shot in South Africa, he expressed his gratitude to his fans for their support, wishing them happy holidays amid showing off his freefalling skills.
While prepping for this stunt, we see the several skydives and motocross jumps he had to do before the final take. The clip then shows him riding off a cliff – an elongated solid slope erected on the set – on a bike and still pulling off a perfect base jump.

Meanwhile, Christopher McQuarrie, the director, watches anxiously as Tom carries out this feat. “This is far and away the most dangerous thing we’ve ever attempted”, McQuarrie says. The stunt has now been said to set a new benchmark for action films on the global platform as it has now been rated as one of the “biggest stunts in cinema history”. According to a crew member, Tom Cruise “rode off the cliff six times” on the day the final take was shot.

The first of the two-part “Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning” sequels is said to hit theaters July 14, 2023. Until then, we can only be patient. We know ‘they’ wouldn’t give us anything less than outstanding.
