How to delete Grindr account on Android
To delete Grindr account, the steps are very easy:
- On your Android device, open the app
- Tap on your Grindr profile which is the shape of a circle
- Select Settings icon located at the top left corner of your screen
- Tap on Deactivate
- Then select Delete Account
- Tap Reason For account deletion
- Provide reasons for deleting your account (this is totally optional)
- If you used an email to open your account, verify your account by entering the email and password you used
- Select Delete Profile
- A red and white dialog box will display on your screen to warn you that your information will be removed permanently
- Go ahead and tap Delete Account
How to delete Grindr account on iPhone
To delete Grindr account on iPhone, follow these steps:
- Open the app
- Go to Grindr profile on the top left corner
- Click the Settings icon at the bottom of the menu
- Tap delete Profile
- You will be required to provide details stating reasons you want to delete your profile. This is absolutely optional so you can skip it
- Enter your email address linked to your profile if you created your account with an Email and password
- Select Delete Profile
- A red and white dialog box will display on your screen to warn you that your information will be removed permanently
- Go ahead and tap Delete Account
Note that deleting your profile will not cancel your premium subscription. Only your personal identification that will be removed from Grindr’s system once you delete your account. So cancel all your subscriptions before deleting the account.
How to recover a deleted Grindr profile
Deleting your Grindr account is a permanent action therefore you can’t recover your profile once you deleted. However you can create a new profile using same credentials you used for the previous ones.
As a premium user, create a new account and restore your purchases. But your data and chats will not remain.
How to remove Grindr app from your device
On Android: Go to Settings > Click on General > Select Apps > Select Grindr and click Delete.
On iPhone: Tap and hold Grindr from the device Home screen, when it jiggles select the black (X) icon in the top right corner and delete the app.
If you did not backup data before deleting the app, all your chats, conversations, photos, etc will disappear. Only your profile information such as favorites, blocks; will remain.
How to confirm a Grindr account/profile was deleted
There is no way to confirm if someone deleted their account on Grindr; or if you deleted your own account. If one wishes to return to Grindr after deleting their account, they have to create a new profile.
