The Apple Watch is one of the most popular smartwatches in the world right now.  With its many features, the Apple watch also serves as a companion to a user’s iPhone.

How to get Snapchat Notifications on Apple Watch

There is no dedicated Snapchat app on the Apple watch so you have to pair your iPhone to Apple Watch. Once the Apple Watch is  paired with an iPhone, users can view notifications from their Snapchat app.  But ensure that Snapchat notifications are enabled on both the iPhone and the Snapchat iPhone app. 

Simply  tap the ‘Notifications‘ tab in the middle of the ‘My Watch‘ page > then Scroll past the system-wide settings toggles and the tabs for Apple’s native watchOS apps > the toggle should be  green, the  Apple Watch will  mirror the notification settings of its paired iPhone. 

• Ensure you enable notifications. You don’t need to enable the sound if you don’t want to.
• Check  the bottom of the iOS Snapchat notification settings screen, there is a blue link that says Snapchat Notification Settings.
•  Click it, this automatically takes  you to the Notifications section on the Snapchat app.
•  Enable the notifications you’d like to receive and disable the ones you don’t.
• Then go to the Watch app on the paired iPhone.
• Check the My Watch section, select Notifications.
• Scroll down to Snapchat and toggle it on.

You will now be able to receive Snapchat notification on your Apple Watch screen.

If Snapchat is blocked from sending iPhone notifications, or only permitted to send certain notifications, like for chats and stories; these notifications will also be blocked on Apple Watch also. Also  if Snapchat can send any type of notification on the iPhone, these same notifications will appear at the same time on the paired  Apple Watch.

One downside to it is that the Snapchat notifications on Apple Watch are limited, when compared to other messaging and communication apps. Notifications on Apple Watch will let the user know when someone is typing or when a chat has been sent, but users will not be able to view the contents of the message or reply to it. They will have to open the chat on their iPhone to view the message content. However, having Snapchat notify you of your messages on the Apple Watch is a great feature.

Since there is no dedicated Snapchat app on the Apple Watch, the Watch merely mirrors what’s happening on your phone.

If you don’t want to be bombarded with tons of notifications from a variety of applications on their Apple Watch like push notifications to place advertisements or promotions. It is useful to be able to customize which apps can send notifications to an Apple Watch.
