How to Reset Wemo Plug

Wemo smart plug is connected to your account when you set it up, so you have to reset the wemo smart plug when you change the account it is tied to.

How to reset Wemo Plug with app

• Open the Wemo app
• Tap Edit
• Select the Wemo smart plug you want to reset
• Tap Reset Options
• Select the Reset options you desire.

Step #1. Clear personalized information

This reset option will clear information like your plug’s name and rules, from the plug without doing a whole reset. If you want to move the plug to a new location or connect with a new device, this reset option is useful.

Step #2. Change Wi-Fi

This reset options removes Wi-Fi settings, letting you move the plug to a different Wi-fi network. This is useful if you are switching WiFi routers.

Step #3. Factory reset

Factory Reset returns the plug to a new condition. This option is useful if you want to reset the plug from scratch, or if you want to sell the plug or give to someone else.

How to reset Wemo Plug without the app

Without the app you need to physically reset the plug. Reset Wemo Plug to factory settings by holding the power button while connecting it to power. The plug’s LED will flash white severally after a short time. The LED will alternate between white and orange light flash, the plug is ready to set up at this point.

How to reconnect Wemo Plug

Reconnect by manually performing a factory reset. A Wemo Plug that has host connection to your Wi-Fi network can be reset without the app. Set up the plug as if it’s a new one to reconnect

What to do if Wemo is not connected

If your normal set up process is interrupted or the display losses it’s ability to connect to your Wi-Fi network, factory Reset will resolve this. If reset fails, set up wemo device again and uninstall and reinstall Wemo App.
