Connecting your phone to Oculus Quest 2 is quite easy from both an Android device or an iOS device. But as a requirement you must have a Facebook or Meta account, before installing and connecting the Meta Quest application on your phone.
The Oculus app is available for any brand of device; either Android or iOS device.

Connecting your device to the Oculus Quest 2 headset is of many benefits. Such benefits include:
- It allows users purchases apps and games
- They can check their friend list
- View screenshots and videos you took on the headset in the gallery
- Live stream from the headset: you can select the stream option if your phone and Oculus Quest 2 are paired. You view is mirrored from the headset to your phone
- You can also record gameplay to your phone for easy playback on a computer or even share with friends outside Facebook’s ecosystem. Quest 1 allows users share screen and clips but it is limited to Facebook and Messenger only
- The pairing allows users to use Parental controls; in this case the child pairs their phone to Oculus, and the parents will initiate a request on their device to allow easy monitoring of virtual reality usage by the child. How to connect phone to Oculus Quest 2
Here’s how to connect the Oculus Quest 2 app to your phone:
On Android:
- Press the Oculus button on the right touch controller to open the toolbar
- When the tool bar opens, select Quick Launch Menu
- Select Settings, and select System
- Go down and select About
- Note down the pairing code
- Go to the Meta app; sign in with Meta or Facebook account
- Select Menu and tap on Devices
- Select Pair New Headset
- Select Quest 2 and press Continue
- Enter the pairing code and Check mark the box
- Quest 2 will successfully pair with your phone
While doing the pairing, ensure that your Oculus quest 2 is active and close to your phone so that pairing will be successful. If you still encounter issues with connecting successfully, wear the headset during the pairing process to increase pairing chances.
On iPhone:
The pairing process is still the same for an iPhone device, go through the steps again.
- Press the Oculus button on the right touch controller to open the toolbar
- When the tool bar opens, select Quick Launch Menu
- Select Settings,and select System
- Go down and select About
- Note down the pairing code
- Go to the Meta app; sign in with Meta or Facebook account
- Select Menu and tap on Devices.
- Select Pair New Headset
- Select Quest 2 and Continue
- Enter the pairing code and Check mark
- Quest 2 will successfully pair with your phone
How to pair Meta Oculus Quest to a TV
If your TV supports screen sharing, cast your Meta/Oculus Quest headset to the TV so other people in the same room can see what you are playing.
- Use the Cast button in the Quest app; the cast button is like a controller with waves coming out of it.
- Select the TV from the list and Pair them.
Your TV, phone, and meta headset must be in the same network for this pairing to work.
You cannot pair an Oculus Quest Controller without using the Meta app. If you encounter issues with connecting your phone with Oculus Quest, you can contact Oculus Quest Customer support to troubleshoot the issue.
