If you bought a game for Quest or Oculus Quest 2 through your Meta Oculus store. But you have decided you don’t want it anymore; you can request a refund through the Meta Oculus app on your phone — It is the same app you used to set up your Quest or Quest 2.
How to refund Quest 2 Games:
- Open the Meta Oculus Companion app.
- Tap Menu then go to Settings Or tap the profile picture
- On the left tap Purchase History
- Select the game you want to refund
- Tap the three vertical dots next to it
- Tap Request Refund
- Follow the on-screen instructions to submit your request
Meta will review the request and email you back with their response
Note that once you make a refund request, the said game will be unavailable for playing. If your request is rejected, the game will be playable.
Criteria for requesting a refund on Quest 2
Meta allows users to receive a refund for most games and apps provided they have used them for less than 2hours. The refund should be requested within 14 days of purchase.
If these criteria are not met , your refund request will be met with an error message that explains why you are not eligible for a refund.
Meta usually takes about 5 business days to review refund request and process refunds; and you can check the status of your request by visiting your Purchase History.
When your request is accepted, you will be credited through your Oculus payment method.
If you don’t receive the money after 7-9 business days, contact your payment provider for help to receive your refund.
Can I request refund for gifted games and apps
Yes! Gifted apps can be refunded but they are subject to same terms and conditions as games/apps you purchased.
You cannot use the game for more than 2hours and it must have been purchased within the last 14days.
- Go to Menu
- Select Settings
- Select Manage Gifts
- Select Redeemed
- Select the gifted app/game
- Tap Request Refund
If the refund is accepted, Meta will issue a refund to the payment method used by the person that gifted you the app/game.
If the game or app has been owned for more than 14 days or played longer than 2hours.There is a one percent chance a refund request will be accepted.
However there is a way to request manually through customer support . If the app/game did not meet expectations, did not work as described, has game breaking bugs are any other glitches. There is a chance you will be refunded if you report to customer support.
